About this Project

The model (or maquette) titled “911 Fire Fighters Memorial” was unveiled at the Palm Beach Fire Chiefs Conference on September 25, 2013 was on display until Nov. 16, 2013 in the Emergency Room of the Boca Raton Regional Hospital. It currently on display at the Emergency Responders Training Facility on the campus of Palm Beach State College at Lake Worth Florida.

The scale model with platform occupies a space roughly 60"H x 48"W x 48"D. Included are three sculpted fire fighter figures and painted canvas backdrops with three HD TV monitors continually cycling actual video clips of raging fires.

The model was completed in September 2013 by four Florida artists, Roger Franklin, Frank Varga, Jennings MacConnell and Ralph Papa, all members of the Artists’ Guild of the Boca Museum of Art. Their plan and intent is to build a life size version for a memorial display at the 9/11 WTC Memorial in New York.

It is a unique and memorable memorial dedicated to firefighters who have risked their lives in service to their communities. Anyone interested in supporting or sponsoring this memorial project can contact us at: info@911firefightersmemorial.com.
